With the opening of a new airport terminal in Kharkiv, Ukraine was admitted to the schedule for hosting the international football championship Euro 2012, said President Viktor Yanukovych after visiting the terminal on Saturday in Kharkiv, reports Interfax-Ukraine.
“Due to the opening of this terminal, we actually enter into the schedule of preparations for Euro 2012. However, there is still much to be done, so we don’t have time to relax. We will simply speed up the pace of preparations,” the president told reporters.
Ahead lies the construction of hotels, infrastructure development, the head of state stressed, in particular, the construction of 32 training bases in compliance with UEFA requirements. “We understand the level of responsibility we have assumed and I am pleased to point to the Kharkiv example that government and business can work together to find a solution that the country needs,” stressed Yanukovych.
