A new subject – national dances – will be introduced in Georgian schools starting the new academic year, said Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili at a meeting on school reforms with the nation’s teachers. “People should know their traditions and dance their national dance at least at their weddings. We will raise a generation that will be well versed in its traditions and dances,” the president said. Saakashvili admitted that he does not master the national dance and regrets this flaw.
