Viktor Yanukovych rules out another gas crisis and disruption of natural gas supplies to European countries.

“I absolutely exclude repetition of this situation. This is impossible. This won´t happen ever, at least, while I am the President of Ukraine,” President Yanukovych said in an interview with Deutsche Welle.

The president said Ukraine makes every efforts to build up relations that would satisfy the European Union and Russia as the consumer and supplier of energy carriers. Yanukovych stands for strict observation of all international agreements on the matter.

Russia´s Gazprom gas monopoly on January 1, 2009, cut natural gas supplies to Ukraine and accused the Naftohaz Ukrainy, the national oil and gas company, of unauthorized gas siphoning and disrupting the earlier achieved agreements.
