The European Union is prepared to technically and financially support Ukraine in the development of the country’s regional policy, European Commissioner for Regional Policy Johannes Hahn stated at a joint press conference with the Minister of Construction and Regional Development of Ukraine Volodymyr Yatsuba last week in Kyiv.

“The EU is ready to support the development of effective regional policy through technical assistance and providing financing of this initiative,” the commissioner said as quoted by Interfax-Ukraine. Hahn said the EU is ready to allocate Ukraine EUR 10 million for this purpose over the period 2011-2013.
