Prime Minister Mykola Azarov supposes that the 2011 national budget deficit will run at 3.5% of GDP, governmental press-service reports. «The Cabinet is drawing up a national budget for 2011. I think we´ll be able to reduce budget deficit to 4%, or perhaps, 3.5%. At least, in view of current economic recovery the government can establish the said objectives,” Azarov said at a meeting with Janusz Lewandowski, European Commissioner for Financial Programming and Budget, in Kyiv. Budget deficit was 1.4% of GDP in January-May, lower than planned, the prime minister added. Thus, the national budget deficit could really narrow in 2011, according to Azarov.
