The Enerhoatom national nuclear power generating company has resumed export of spent nuclear fuel from Ukrainian nuclear power stations to Russia for processing. Enerhoatom´s President Yuriy Nedashkivskiy told reporters that the company has already exported one of the three consignments of spent nuclear fuel it plans to export to Russia this year. Enerhoatom did not export spent nuclear fuel to Russia for last year because of the price disputes. Spent fuel from VVER-440 reactors are sent to the Mayak plant outside Chelyabinsk in Russia for processing while spent fuel from VVER-1000 reactors is sent to Krasnoyarsk.
