The International Monetary Fund supports the intention of the Ukrainian government to limit the deficit of the 2010 national budget by 6% of GDP, the Cabinet’s press service said citing the results of the meeting between Prime Minister Azarov and IMF mission head Thanos Arvanitis on April 1. «Mr Arvanitis said significant progress has been reached in the understanding of the parties during the work of the IMF mission and welcomed the plans of the Ukrainian government to transfer the Naftogaz Ukrainy national oil and gas company to the operation without state subsidies. IMF said the Finance Ministry was on the right track concerning the improvement of the situation with revenues to the national budget and optimization of outlays of the national budget.
